Disability Awareness Week

Disability is not a 'brave struggle' or ‘courage in the face of adversity’. Disability is an art. It’s an ingenious way to live.

The ASUW Student Disability Commission (SDC) is a student organization working to build greater awareness of disability issues around campus. We strive to create a stronger sense of community among people with disabilities and disability allies.

On-going goals include improving accessibility and accommodation around campus, organizing social and academic events, circulating resources and information, eradicating stigmatization of disability and promoting visibility and awareness of disability related issues.

Disability Advocacy Student Alliance (DASA) is a student group facilitated for and by students. Our goal is to address the needs and concerns of the disability community and its allies on the University of Washington campus regarding the issue of disability. We aim to represent student interest while working with allied student groups, UW administration and the off campus community. DASA meetings and events will be safe places to discuss how disability issues affect students.
